Overview
PrayingForYou is designed to be private by default. Your prayers stay on your device. We do not collect, store, or sell your personal data.
Data Storage
All prayer data, settings, and preferences are stored locally on your device. There is no account system and no cloud copy of your prayers. If you delete the app, your data is deleted with it.
Prayer Sharing
When you choose to share a prayer, the app builds a link that carries the prayer itself: only the title, description, and reminder settings you chose to share. The link opens a page on this website, which hands the prayer to the app on the recipient's device. Nothing about the prayer is stored on any server; the content lives in the link.
Sharing is entirely optional and initiated only by you. No data is shared without your explicit action.
Prayer Counts
A shared prayer shows how many people have added it. When someone adds a shared prayer, the app sends that prayer's random identifier to a small counting service run for this app on Cloudflare, which keeps one anonymous tally per prayer. No personal information, prayer content, or device identifier is sent with it.
To prevent abuse, the counting service keeps a salted hash of the requesting network address for up to an hour. The address itself is never stored.
Analytics & Tracking
PrayingForYou does not use any analytics, tracking, or advertising frameworks. We do not collect:
- Usage data or app analytics
- Device identifiers
- Location data
- Advertising identifiers
- Crash reports (beyond what Apple collects if you opt in via iOS Settings)
Third-Party Services
Cloudflare hosts this website, including the page that opens shared links, and the prayer-count service described above. That is the only third-party service involved, and it is contacted only when you share a prayer, add one, or view a shared prayer's count. No third-party SDKs, analytics tools, or ad networks are included in the app.
Children's Privacy
PrayingForYou does not collect personal data from anyone, including children. There is nothing to collect: no account, no name, no email address, and no identifiers. The app is safe for all ages.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Since the app collects no data, significant changes are unlikely.
